My Services
Children’s Picture Book Editing
First Phone Call (15 mins): Free, for the purposes of learning about each other and your work so we can partner effectively and determine next steps
Editorial Assessment: Starting at $275
An editorial assessment provides an author with big-picture feedback, noting the strengths and areas that could use improvement in the story. The assessment looks at overall development of the plot, character formation, misplaced scenes, and overused dialogue tags. I will also provide feedback about word count and page count. Some authors choose to skip this step and move directly into developmental editing. While a fine decision for some authors, those who feel their story may be underdeveloped will benefit greatly from this step.
Developmental Editing: Starting at $325
This editing session includes one round of line-by-line edits, helping improve word choice, grammar, syntax, and rhyme (if applicable), plus detailed notes and questions to help improve clarity, concise storytelling, and reader engagement.
Editorial Assessment and Developmental Edit Combination: Starting at $400
This edit provides both an editorial assessment and developmental edit, giving big-picture notes and strength/weakness assessment as well as a line-by-line breakdown of areas that could use improvement. Grammar, syntax and spelling errors will be corrected, as well.
Proofreading: $100
Once your book’s illustrations and design have been completed, a proofread will catch any grammatical or spelling errors, correct text placement issues, recommend art edits if needed, and ensure all files are ready for publishing.

Author Assistance
Consultation Meeting or Call Required: This first step will help to establish the author's needs and how I can help.
I will then tailor a package of services according to the needs of the author looking for help in their publishing journey. As an author assistant, I can help you find an illustrator and/or book designer, communicate with these professionals on your behalf, file for copyright, purchase ISBNs, get quotes for offset printing, assist with uploading files to online publishers such as KDP, IngramSpark, Lulu and/or Draft2Digital (etc.), and more. After publishing, I can assist with Amazon Advertising set-up, as well, and build initial ads for you. Some authors ask me to take their manuscript from unedited all the way to publication, outsourcing each aspect of the process they want to offload from their own plates. Others hire me for specific help in the publishing process or afterward.
Assistance with publishing tasks includes keyword optimization and category research for best placement on Amazon, using the software Publisher Rocket.
